Back in my day, we didn't laugh. We silently acknowledged the humor of the situation and got back to work.

In freshman year, my religion teacher decided that I was going to build an ark by the time I turned 34. So far, progress is minimal.

Religion (or its omission) would not be a justification for hate.

Sometimes. Depends on the situation, and who's there.
